I have completed Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of British Columbia in 2003. As part of my professional journey, I have worked both in private orthopedic practice and in-hospital acute and outpatient care settings. From 2007, I have focused clinical interest mainly on the pelvic floor and abdominal dysfunction, both female and male, pregnancy and postpartum health and paediatric clients.
Presently I work at On The Coast Physio, with the clinic locations both in Sechelt and in Vancovuer, BC. Home visits are also available both on Sunshine Coast, BC and in Vancouver, BC.
In the past I have worked at the BC Centre for Vulvar Health at Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, BC; the incontinence clinics at BC Women’s Hospital and Burnaby Hospital, the Prostate Cancer Supportive Care at VGH, Dayan Physiotherapy and Pelvic Floor Clinic (now Envision Physio) and Reformotiv Physio + Pilates; which provided me with an ongoing challenge and learning opportunities.

When not working with the clients, I enjoy my family, hiking, time spent both on the Sunshine Coast and in Vancouver, and company of my dog.

Maryla Podgajny
Registered Physiotherapist
Dear Maryla,I cannot thank you enough for the amazing, invaluable work that you do - as well as your compassion and wonderful sense of humor. It is such a privilege to be treated by you and to learn from you. I also deeply appreciate that you took the time to call me on two occasions in response to specific concerns of mine. I'm so grateful for your care during such an important time in my life.
Dear Maryla, I wanted to thank you so much for putting me on the path to real pelvic floor strengthening - it is making such a difference to my quality of life and confidence when venturing out. I believe I am still seeing improvements over 2 years since first visiting you.
Maryla was very easy to speak with and an excellent listener. She explained things to me in ways that made so much sense but from a perspective I hadn’t heard before. (And I’ve been dealing with my issues for over two decades and have lost track of the number of professionals l’ve seen over the years!) She was very knowledgeable and experienced with an air of humble confidence that put me at ease right away. I walked in feeling anxious and helpless but walked out with renewed peace and hope! I am looking forward to continuing to work with her!
Dear Maryla.
Thank you so much for helping me with my Pelvic Floor "issues". You saved the day!!!
I appreciated your common sense, your guidance and your humor.
All the best.
Dear Maryla,I just wanted to say thank you for your help, and that my problem is solved:) You are awesome.
After suffering with an overactive bladder for many years I finally connected with someone who is positively improving my daily life, my sleep and has helped me eliminate the irritation/pain I was experiencing. Another physical therapist [...] recommended Maryla Podgajny [..] when she realized that I required a Pelvic Floor expert and her recommendation did not let me down. Maryla has excellent credentials, a long history working with pelvic issues, is extremely professional and knowledgeable and has a very compassionate personality. In only a few sessions my situation is improving. She performed a thorough exam and starts each session by discussing the program for that day, offers clear explanations, gives useful exercises and information for home use and follows up with diagrams, etc. available online. Not a minute is wasted. I am completely comfortable recommending Maryla Podgajny."
