Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPY VISIT?

You can expect a respectful and thoughtful review of your health history and presenting complaints in an environment that is safe and fully confidential.  The physical assessment and proposed treatment would be appropriate to the presenting concern. This might include education, pelvic floor exam with a possible vaginal and/or rectal exam, work with EMG biofeedback and/or orthopedic assessment of the pelvic gridle.

What is Tele-Health Video Visit?

Tele-HealthVisit allows use of technology to to provide real-time health care to patients at a distance. It allows you to see your provider from anywhere, just click the personalized room link Doxy.me to join them for a video call. There is no need to download software or create an account. Just use a browser on a computer or device with a camera and microphone. All data is encrypted, your sessions are anonymous, and none of your information is stored. Doxy.me adheres to HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR data privacy requirements.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY PHYSIO VISIT?

I am a registered physiotherapist, which means the expense might be partially covered by your health insurance. Every insurance plan is different so you will need to follow up with your provider regarding available coverage.  At the time of the visit, you will be responsible for covering all the costs and submitting the receipt to your provider if applicable.

For MSP beneficiaries receiving premium assistance, MSP will contribute 23$ per visit for a combined annual limit of 10 visits each year towards physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, naturopathy,  acupuncture, and surgical podiatry. You will be responsible for submitting the incurred expense to the MSP for reimbursement.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE VISIT?

Payments are accepted with Square, cash, cheque or e-transfer. Any Canadian issued and most non-Canadian issued credit cards with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB or Discover logo can be used.  Interact Debit cards with INTERACT Flash (tap)  are also accepted (larger amounts can be split into two or three sub-transactions).

The Tele-Heath visits are invoiced via Square for online payments.

DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN'S REFERRAL TO SEE A PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIO?

While in British Columbia it is not necessary to have a referral to seek a physiotherapy treatment;  some insurance companies require such referral for coverage purposes.  You might contact your provider to confirm their requirements.

CAN I GET A SAME-DAY APPOINTMENT?

As I am splitting my clinical time between Sunshine Coast and Vancouver, a confirmation of the visit must be done at least a day prior to the planned appointment.  It might be possible to book the same day visit for an urgent concern, booking must be done by phone to confirm the availability.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

In case you need to cancel the visit, I require 24 hours notice so that someone on the waiting list can take the appointment. In case of not showing for the visit (either in person or for the Tele-health visit) or failing to notify regarding the cancellation, you will be responsible for the cost of the cancellation fee: 85.00$.
